Start with the environment

Where will the sign live?

Outdoor is not one condition. A covered terrace, an exposed facade and a coastal venue need different planning. Choose the closest scenario.

Outdoor build recommended

Plan for moisture around covered spaces.

Humidity, condensation and wind-driven spray can still reach a covered sign. Specify outdoor use whenever moisture exposure is possible, even when the location appears sheltered.

Include in your brief

  • A wide photo of the location
  • Canopy depth and wall dimensions
  • Nearest protected power point

The proposal confirms the sign build, adapter and control placement for the actual environment. The dimmer and RGB controller must remain indoors or suitably protected.

Outdoor specification

Outdoor performance starts with the full installation.

Plan the IP67 sign body, mounting, cable route, adapter and controls as one project.

IP67
What the IP67 rating covers

IP67 applies to the outdoor sign body. It does not make the adapter, dimmer or RGB controller waterproof. These components must be placed according to their own rating and the agreed installation plan. The sign is not intended for underwater use.

Plan the complete installation

Share these five details before we quote.

A placement photo lets us assess scale, exposure and the cable route with the real setting in view.

Placement photo

Show the full wall, nearby cover, access, surrounding space and where people will see the sign from.

Weather exposure

Tell us about direct rain, snow, sun, humidity, salt air, splash and strong wind.

Wall & dimensions

Share the wall material, usable width and height, plus the approximate viewing distance.

Power & cable route

Show the nearest power point and preferred cable direction. Mention hardwiring or concealed wiring early.

Installation access

Share the installation height, wall access and whether a local installer or electrician will handle the final fitting.

Made for real locations

One outdoor system. Many ways to be seen.

We adapt the design, scale, backing and installation plan to the sign’s purpose and location.

Outdoor FAQ

Outdoor neon questions, clearly answered.

Clear answers about the IP67 sign body, power setup, timing and installation.

Can every LED neon sign be used outdoors?

No. A sign intended for rain, snow, humidity or other outdoor exposure must be ordered with the outdoor specification from the beginning. Standard indoor signs should remain in dry, protected interiors.

What does IP67 mean for an outdoor neon sign?

For our outdoor version, IP67 applies to the sign body and describes its resistance to dust and water under defined test conditions. It does not apply automatically to the adapter, dimmer or RGB controller, and the sign is not intended for underwater use.

Where should the adapter, dimmer and RGB controller be installed?

If the adapter remains indoors, the standard adapter is sufficient. If it must remain outside, an outdoor waterproof adapter is required. The dimmer and RGB controller are not waterproof and must remain indoors or suitably protected. For an outdoor RGB sign, we recommend keeping the controller and adapter indoors and running the approved low-voltage cable to the sign.

Can an outdoor neon sign stay outside in rain and snow?

Yes, when the sign is ordered with the outdoor specification. The IP67 sign body is intended for suitable exposed installations, while correct mounting, cable routing and placement of the adapter and controls remain part of the installation plan.

Can I install a neon sign near the sea or a pool?

Possibly, but the location needs project review. Tell us about salt air, humidity, splash, wind and the distance from the water. The signs are not intended for underwater or permanently submerged use.

How long does an outdoor custom neon sign take?

Standard production and delivery normally take 2–3 weeks. Express service takes 10–12 calendar days for eligible projects and includes priority production and express shipping for an additional fee. Timing starts after payment and, when mockup approval is selected, after approval.

Can you turn my logo into an outdoor neon sign?

Yes. Send the logo or artwork through our custom quote form and we’ll prepare a free mockup. Fine details may be simplified or combined with engraved or UV-printed acrylic so the design remains recognizable and suitable for production.

What size should my outdoor sign be?

The right size depends on the artwork, wall dimensions, viewing distance and desired impact. Send a straight-on placement photo with at least one known measurement so we can recommend a useful scale.

Can I install the sign myself?

Many signs use pre-drilled acrylic backing and supplied mounting hardware, so installation can be straightforward. The correct method still depends on the wall, sign size, height and weather exposure. See the Installation Guide, and use a qualified local installer or electrician for hardwiring, elevated mounting or specialist work.

How do I order a custom outdoor neon sign?

Use the custom quote form for a logo, custom artwork or a more complex project, and select outdoor use in the form. If you are creating a text sign in the Online Design Studio or ordering a ready-made design, select the Outdoor option before adding it to your cart.
